Architectural information on the current reconstruction
| The Globe scholars and architects took into account all the
evidence at hand to determine their design. Here, we see the discovered
Globe remains superimposed on a rendering of the new reconstruction. |
 |
 |
After considerable debate, the scholars and architects arrived
at a twenty-sided design for the theatre. Here is a detail of that final
floor plan that is nearly built in London. |
When it came time to detail specific sections, the architects
had all the information they needed. Below is depicted the plan, development,
and construction of two bays of the new Globe Theatre.
 |
Taking the archaeological information, the architects determined
the exact dimensions of each bay. |
| Here is a cross section of the plans for just one of the bays. |
 |
 |
This is the same cross section, but with seating and spectators
added for scale. |
| The frame's construction went perfectly according to plan. |
 |
 |
Here is the (nearly) finished product, as of June 1995. |
